Its ALL Prarabdha Karma...

“Everything is Destined and has already been planned! – you are just a puppet to live your dream life according to you but in actuality you are not!” – These words of wisdom was told to me by a saint recently whom I met in a Temple – he had visited from Vrindavan and was of an elated order – the radiance on his face was a testimony of his monastic order and wisdom. As I myself perceive, the story of your life is not a series of random accidents; it is part of a grand divine plan.

Everything you go through—the happy moments, the struggles, and the big changes—was set in motion long before you were born. In ancient wisdom, this concept is called Prarabdha Karma. It means that your past actions and choices from former lives have ripened into the specific situations you experience today. Just like seeds planted long ago eventually grow into plants, your past actions shape where you are born, your natural talents, and the major events in your life.

Think of Prarabdha as the script for your life journey. It explains why certain people feel instantly familiar when you meet them, or why some life-changing events happen no matter how hard you try to avoid them. Knowing that everything is planned isn't meant to make you feel helpless. Instead, it offers comfort. It means that no hardship is pointless, no meeting is an accident, and no loss is without reason. Every single experience is custom-tailored by a higher power to help your soul grow and learn.

Even though the main story of your life is pre-planned, you still have free will in how you react. Imagine life as a game of cards: destiny deals you the hand, but you decide how to play it. You cannot change the family you were born into or certain health conditions, but you have full control over your attitude and choices today. How you handle life’s challenges determines whether you create new problems for the future or heal old debts. Choosing patience, kindness, and grace helps you clear away old burdens and move forward.

Ultimately, accepting that everything is destined brings peace to your mind. When you realize a loving power is guiding your path, you stop worrying so much about controlling every detail. Fear and anxiety fade away, replaced by trust in the universe's timing. Embracing your Prarabdha allows you to let go of stress, go with the flow of life, and feel safe knowing you are right where you are supposed to be.
